The purpose of the Academy is to recruit young attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding ethics, leadership and commitment, to serve as Ambassadors for Dade Legal Aid within our community. Fellows will learn about important issues affecting the indigent in Miami, strengthen leadership skills in their workplace and beyond, and engage with distinguished members of the legal community. Throughout the year, Fellows will be presented with unique opportunities to develop connections and to enhance their knowledge of Dade Legal Aid while creating lasting relationships and deepening their commitment to pro bono service. Several former Fellows have been appointed to the judiciary, partnerships at their firms, and voluntary bar leadership roles.
Applicants must be in practice for 2 - 8 years and have a proven track record in their respective practice areas and a passion for community service and pro bono legal work.
